Founder’s Story

Renee Brown – A Journey Fueled by Connection

Whether through a perfectly crafted cup of coffee or a story told on screen, Renee Brown has always been inspired by connection. Her work begins with people and the moments that bring them together.

From a Dream to a Coffee Brand with Purpose

In the early days of Weaver’s Coffee & Tea, Renee set out to create more than just a coffee and tea company. She envisioned a fantastic brand built around community—a place where artisanship and hospitality could meet, and where a single cup of coffee could change the world.

From securing permits and overseeing construction to designing every detail of the flagship coffee shop, Renee built Weaver’s Coffee & Tea from the ground up with a deep commitment to quality and care.

Building Community, One Location and Product at a Time

Her vision first came to life in Marin County, where the coffee roastery and coffee shop blend the craft of coffee roasting with a vibrant gathering place. Later, she brought Weaver’s Coffee & Tea to one of the busiest corners of San Francisco, creating a flagship coffee shop that quickly became a hub for locals, commuters, and visitors.

For seven years, this coffee shop stood as a symbol of connection and craftsmanship—until September 11, 2020, when a car traveling at 70 mph crashed through the store, destroying it in seconds. Though the physical space was lost, the community and spirit that grew there continues to inspire.

Expanding beyond the walls of its coffee shops, Renee led the creation of innovative consumer packaged goods designed to carry the Weaver’s Coffee & Tea experience into homes and on the go. The launch of Weaver’s Cold Brew Coffee Cans has opened the brand to a new generation of coffee drinkers—young, mobile consumers who value both quality and convenience. At the same time, the introduction of Single-Serve Compostable Coffee Bags has challenged the traditional K‑Cup market, providing an eco‑friendly, sustainable alternative that delivers exceptional flavor without compromise.

Global Stage: Cannes Film Festival

Renee’s vision also took Weaver’s Coffee & Tea global. She launched the brand internationally at the American Pavilion during the Cannes Film Festival with an overnight build-out of a fully functioning coffee shop capable of serving more than 700 guests a day.

With custom branding, digital media, and exceptional coffee service, the pop-up became a festival favorite and established Weaver’s on the global stage. The overwhelming success of that first year led to five consecutive years of pouring coffee at Cannes—strengthening the company’s identity worldwide and within the Hollywood creative community.

Storytelling Beyond Coffee

Renee’s passion for storytelling extends beyond the world of coffee. Through her production and design company, Chatty Mac Productions, she creates award-winning global documentary short films that highlight culture, innovation, and human connection. Her camera travels from local neighborhoods to far corners of the world, uncovering stories that deserve to be seen and heard.

What Drives Renee Today

Today, Renee continues to lead with the same vision that started it all: to create experiences, spaces, and stories that connect, inspire, and leave something lasting behind.

Every cup, every story, every moment shared—it all comes back to connection. That’s the heart of Renee Brown’s journey, and the foundation of Weaver’s Coffee & Tea.
